Our Club History

The Rotary Club of Daniel Island was chartered on July 19, 2001, with 33 members and sponsored by the North Charleston Breakfast Rotary.  As we have grown, we have moved our regular Wednesday morning meeting to several places on Daniel Island.  Currently we meet at the Daniel Island Club and we have over 60 members.

Our biggest fundraiser continues to be the Rotary Charity Duck Race, an event which has quickly become one of the Lowcountry’s premier fundraisers. In the past four years the event has raised and donated more than $400,000 for local charities and Rotary projects worldwide. Current information about the Duck Race and how you can become a sponsor can be found at: www.CharlestonDuckRace.com.

Although a relatively new club, we have achieved numerous recognitions from our District and Rotary International.
