February 22 – (Zoom) -- Kristie Radford, The South Carolina Chapter, The Gift of Adoption Fund. The mission of this organization is to provide adoption assistance to qualified families and to provide loving, forever homes to children in vulnerable circumstances. There are 140 million children worldwide who have been orphaned and are in desperate need of a family they can call their own. Eighty million Americans have considered adoption but less than 2% of those ever begin the process because of the high cost which can be as high as $40,000. Less than 1% of those Americans complete the process. Many of the Gift of Adoption grants are awarded to keep biological siblings together in one caring and

loving home. Many go to parents in the U.S. military, clergy, teachers, police, firefighters, and other civil servant positions. While the benefits to the child are obvious, the pleasure to the adoptive parents of these children is often overlooked.
