Dr. Dondi Costin, president with Charleston Southern University, was our weekly breakfast meeting's guest speaker. He is passionate about the school, his new career and the ability to influence young lives. Dr. Costin retired from the Airforce Academy as a Chaplin and has received several military awards for his service. The school has an enrollment of 3400 students and is expanding its curriculum and online course work. The highlight of the educational experience at Charleston Southern University is to have a 1 on 1 relationship with your professor as this benefits each student the most. The professors focus on character development with students. The school will be rolling out its "Passport to Purpose" initiative which will provide its students with a pathway to develop their purpose and fullest potential. Member, Ashton Lamb, shared his story about being from Arkansas, educated in Colorado, and his career as a land conservationist. Scott Garcia and Rex Brown received their Paul Harris fellows award. A reminder that there is NO breakfast meeting next week because of the scheduled speaker series at the Daniel Island Club.
