Rotary Recap - 3/4 - General Glenn Walters, President of the Citadel

General Glenn Walters, President of The Citadel, was our weekly breakfast speaker.  The General with his long list of military medals informed the Club as to the changes taking place at the college and the success of their students. The General is a graduate from The Citadel and was an aviator with the Marines.  The Citadel has over 2000 undergraduates and nearly 1000 students enrolled. The Citadel has the highest graduation rate in the state and boasts that its students graduate using the 4-year model.  Additionally, 82% of their students have a job when they graduate, with the majority of the rest of the graduating students pursuing further education.  This month's hands-on service project is this Saturday and is working on improving a home in our local community.  Dr. Greene shared an update with the work being done in Peru as a result of contribution along with that of Water Missions.  We were also invited to participate in the annual local Water Mission walk.
