Rotary Recap - 5/27 - Scott Krenitski, CRO Charleston Battery

Scott Krenitski, CRO of the Charleston Battery, was our speaker at this morning's weekly breakfast meeting held virtually.  Scott was a graduate of Vanderbilt and Oxford and an avid soccer player and fan.  He is connected to Rotary for the contributions Rotary made to his education. He informed the members that the team updated their branding and that the stadium at Patriot's Point is complete.  The Charleston Battery has a new owner and the team is an avid partner of youth soccer locally.  The status of their season has been officially postponed but that they look forward to the use of their new facilities where there is plenty of parking.  Charleston Battery is a second-tier professional soccer team and has a lot of talented and intelligent athletes.  Katy Hall, a junior at the College of Charleston, was in attendance.  Our club is looking forward to supporting her as she seeks educational assistance in pursuing her passion.  Katy will be studying in Costa Rica and will focus on building sustainable solutions when individuals are released from incarceration.

Also a hearty congrats to Derek Epperson on the birth of their beautiful baby girl.

Don't forget to sign up for the blood drive on June 2nd and save the date for June 24th for the induction of officers.  There will not be a breakfast meeting on that date.
