Rotary Recap - 6/17 - Kevin Mills, South Carolina Aquarium

ROTARY RECAP.  Kevin Mills, President and CEO of the South Carolina Aquarium, was the weekly breakfast speaker held virtually.  Kevin spent most of his time growing up in Kansas and has been at the Aquarium since 2006.  This year is the 20th anniversary of the Aquarium.  Their focus is on the conservation of natural ways of care of animals by also creating an exceptional visitor experience.  The Aquarium has become a leader in understanding the impact of climate change on the salt marshes, sea-level rise, and storm surge.  They also are a leader in STEM education for our kids.

Previous scholarship recipients Jarvis Bess (Sr. at USC Beaufort) and Carrington Wigfall (Sophomore at Winthrop University) provided updates on their educational experience.

A reminder that there will be NO Breakfast Meetings the next 2 weeks. Don't forget the Club Installation on 6/24 at Dockery's or Virtually. See Upcoming Events for More Details.

Also check out the Upcoming Hobby Club Meetings for Investment Club, Boating Club and Bourbon Club.

On Thursday, 6/18, several Rotarians again assisted ECCO in the distribution of produce at Cainhoy Elementary School. These ongoing "pop-up" events will continue to occur on the 3rd Thursday of every month and Rotarian assistance is quite helpful, especially during the peak 1st hour (9:30-11:00).
