August 12, 2020 - ROTARY RECAP. Robert Behre, reporter/columnist with the Post & Courier, was the Club's weekly breakfast speaker held virtually. Robert has been in the newspaper business for 35 years and spoke about the differences between fact vs opinion reporting and the impact of the First Amendment in that people may have the right to say what they want but it may not be without consequences. He shared with those members in attendance the profitability model of newspapers past and present. Member Jason Hill shared his life experiences when telling his story. Jason traveled the world with the Navy and has worked as a Defense Contractor as an engineer. He recently moved to the low country from Newport, RI. Dr. Greene provided an update on the Peru project, in that there are only 10 more latrines left to construct. Mary Schroeder reminded everyone of the hands-on volunteer opportunity next week in co-hosting the Cainhoy Pop-Up food delivery. Rotarians supported a local business in a socially distanced manner.
