The Bikes for Africa project is ready to move into the breakdown and loading stage.

 

• The next workday at the warehouse in North Charleston on Saturday, March 1

• ​The address of the warehouse is 4531 Piggly Wiggly Dr., North Charleston, SC 29405. A gate code will be provided to those volunteers that sign up. 

• Tools are not needed, but it is suggested to bring work gloves

• ​Unused Sporting Equipment? - Anyone who has gently used footwear, bike helmets or sports equipment (i.e. soccer balls etc.) are welcomed to donate those items as well. Please bring these to the warehouse or get them to Tom Carroll or Bob Schroeder.  These items will be placed in the "air gaps" between the stacked bikes and have proven to be welcomed items by the recipients of previously shipped containers. 

• More Bikes? If there are few additional bikes we can take those as well...Please let Tom Carroll or Christian Pullano know. There will be another opportunity to donate bikes for next year's shipment.​

• Volunteer Schedule? There will be two 4 hour shifts on Saturday, March 1 at the North Charleston Warehouse; (9:00am - 1:00 pm and 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm).​

• Eats? Lunch will be served and people are certainly welcome to work both shifts.

Each club is asked to provide up to 10 volunteers for each of the two shifts.

Volunteers from the Charleston Rotaract Club and the Citadel are also expected to be joining us.
