Joining Rotary

Are you interested in making an impact in our community and globally?

Do you enjoy networking with others and social events?

If so, the Rotary Club of Daniel Island may be right for you.

Whether you are new to Rotary, a returning Rotarian, or a current member of another Rotary club who has relocated to Daniel Island, we would like to meet you.

Contact Kevin Condon, our Club Membership Chair, to learn more about our Club. Throughout the year, we host Discover Rotary Events, and encourage you to join us then if the timing works for you.

We meet most Wednesday mornings at the Daniel Island Club Ballroom from 7:30-8:30 AM. Check our calendar to learn more about upcoming meetings and Discover Rotary event dates.

Benefits of membership include the opportunity to:

  • Make an impact in the communities we serve

  • Network and build fellowship with other Rotarians

  • Participate in a variety of committees and hobby clubs

  • Listen to and learn from our weekly speakers

  • Enjoy various Rotary outings in the Charleston area

Rotarians are expected to:

  • Attend our weekly breakfasts at the Daniel Island Club,

  • Work on our annual fundraising event, the Charleston Duck Race, by adopting ducks and helping on race day.

  • Serve on a committee – community or international service projects, education, scholarship, fellowship etc.

  • Pay quarterly dues, which include a $100 annual contribution to the Rotary Foundation.

The membership process for new members has a few steps including:

  1. Attend a minimum of three breakfast meetings as our guest so you can get a better feel if our Rotary Club is right for you.

  2. Provide your bio, fill out an application, and meet with the Membership Director and Assistant Governor to learn more.

  3. Have your name run through SLED (a Rotary International policy as we work often with children).

  4. Be approved by the Club Board and membership.

People who are active members in good standing of another Rotary Club may transfer their membership to the Rotary Club of Daniel Island without going through all of the steps described above. They should contact Kevin Condon
