Andrea Sullivan, President, DINA

February 1 – (Daniel Island Club) -- Andrea Sullivan, President, Daniel Island Neighborhood Association. Andrea and her husband Tory relocated here from Tucson, Arizona in February 2020. The two of them have jumped in with both feet to do what they can to improve our community. Andrea has

become the president of DINA, while Tory chairs both the Events Committee and the Development Land Use Committee. DINA is a volunteer organization formed by residents whose mission is to preserve and enhance the quality of life on Daniel Island which means that it advocates for DI residents with the City of Charleston, Berkeley County, and the State of South Carolina. Given that both our Rotary Club and DINA are trying to find ways to improve our community - hopefully we can find better ways to assist each other. For example, the January 11 presentation by Jacob Lindsey and Jordi Yarborough was initially sponsored by DINA in early November at the Daniel Pointe Retirement Community but few members of our Rotary Club knew about the event and attended it. The purpose of having Andrea speak to us is to find ways for our two organizations to work more closely together. Andrea grew up in southern California and got her degree from USC where she studied Urban and Regional Planning and Development. She spent 20 years working as an educational facilities planner for K-12 schools throughout California. After she and Tory got married they moved to Tucson, Arizona and Andrea got her real estate license because of her love of architecture and design which coordinated nicely with her background in urban planning.
