Mitch Pugh, Executive Editor, Post and Courier. Corruption is flourishing as newspapers fold. The P&C’s Executive editor Mitch Pugh has started a campaign to raise $100,000 in 100 days for what he calls “Watchdog journalism”. He notes that newspapers throughout the state have been closing and shrinking, creating what he calls “news deserts”. As a result, crime is flourishing amongst the politicians in those areas because the newspapers were the ones who kept an eye on city hall, the school board, etc. If the P&C goes down this road what bias will it have? Should be an interesting discussion with the Executive Editor.
