About the event
We are planning to participate with ECCO in a "Pop-Up" Farmer's Market on May 21st in Cainhoy. The location will be either the Cainhoy Elementary School or the Cainhoy Community Center, to be advised by ECCO.
ECCO will be supplying fresh produce while RCDI has agreed to provide complementary non-perishable goods.
Social distancing will be practiced and goods will be placed in the trunk of the Cainhoy-resident car.
To support the project, we are asking Rotarians to provide 2 "complete" bags of non-perishable goods of value approximately $25. Our goal is 25 particpants/50 bags. The list below provides some additional details for those that are looking for further guidance. At the same time, we understand that there may be some constraints on products available in your supermarket, so substitutions are perfectly fine. Your expenses are reimbursable so please save and send receipts to Maureen Cannon (firstname.lastname@example.org) or text picture of receipt to 423 967 5617. This will also help us keep track of the number of bags that we have collected and how far we need to go.
Bags may be dropped off on the back porch of Holy Cross Church prior to Sunday May 17th please. We will provide further information on volunteer needs for day-of-event.
This is a great way to help those who face food insecurity even in "normal" times. We appreciate your participation!
