About the event

April 7 -- Kristin Schroeder, Duke University Children’s Hospital, Pediatric Oncology Project in Tanzania. (DI Club). Kristin is a pediatric neuro-oncologist at Duke Children’s Hospital in Durham. She also happens to be Bob and Mary Schroeder’s daughter. Kristin established a pilot project to improve the understanding of the pediatric oncology burden in Western Tanzania. Her work in global oncology inspired her to create a non-profit, I-CCARE, whose mission is to give any child who is diagnosed with cancer the same chance of cure regardless of where they live. She spends one-half of her time doing pediatric cancer awareness and care in Tanzania, the rest in North Carolina. Our Club is working on a global grant to support her project.
