About the event
August 7 (Blackbaud) -- Elias Deeb, CEO of the Charleston Marine Manufacturing. We toured “Navy Yard Charleston” complex in October of last year. That was for the residential, merchant and office space part of the Navy Yard. The industrial campus is a historic riverfront facility for maritime, manufacturing and logistic firms. It is managed by Charleston Marine Manufacturing. All sorts of companies have chosen to locate there. There is of course, Detyens Shipyard which repairs large ships. Tugboats from Moran Towing help vessels get in to and out of the harbor are located there. There are a variety of tech companies and incubators. Urban Electric produces high end lighting fixtures, Robert Thomas Iron Design is a modern day blacksmithing company following in the footsteps of Philip Simmons. Most of us have no idea what is happening down there. But that is about to change. Elias Deeb is the CEO of Charleston Marine Manufacturing. He has been involved with CMMC for the past 8 years. Prior to that he was with the Noisette Corporation. He has extensive experience in building preservation as well as maritime, manufacturing and logistics facility development. He is also a member of the Trident CEO Council which a group of local business leaders who are committed to helping the Charleston region move forward through good jobs, strong communities, a spirit of cooperation, and a heavy emphasis on preserving nature.
