HYBRID Breakfast Meeting: Mike Seekings, Charleston City Council

April 6 (DI Club) – Mike Seekings, District 8 Representative, Charleston City Council. Darren Arndt ran into Mike at a dinner a couple of weeks ago and Mike expressed an interest in speaking to our club.  Mike became a Rotarian in November of last when he joined the Historic Charleston Rotary Club.  He was first elected to city council in November 2013. He ran for mayor in 2019 but lost to incumbent Mayor John Tecklenburg. He is arguably the moist vocal council member on many of the issues facing the city from flooding to affordable housing to infrastructure. It will be interesting to hear his views on these and other issues. Our own city council representative Boyd Gregg has been in office less than two months and is getting up to speed on all of these issues. We expect to hear from him at a later date.
