June 21 (Daniel Island Club) – Jamey Mellis, President/CEO, Software Solutions and Designs. Jamey has been the head of his company for the past 31 years so he knows a few things about software. He will talk to us this morning about ransomware which is a huge problem for companies these days and is costing them billions. Making matters worse is that the U.S. government is making it difficult for companies to pay the ransom if their business is hit. In some cases it is even illegal to pay the ransom which leaves companies between a rock and a hard place if they do not have good backups. Jamey presented to the Mt. Pleasant Rotary Club and their members found it fascinating. You might want to read about the story below linked from WCBD news below how the scammers were (almost) able to fool Jamey.
