About the event

July 31  (Blackbaud)  --  Monty Jenkins, Deputy Chief of EMS for Berkeley County.  A number of years ago our club purchased a golf cart for the EMS facility here on Daniel Island.  There are so many running trails and relatively remote places here on DI that an ambulance simply cannot access.  Hence, the need for a golf cart.  We all obviously care about EMS and, hopefully, none of us will ever need their services.  But for most of us there will eventually come a time when we do.  What can we as onlookers/family/friends do until the EMS team finally arrives?  If we call 911 and tell them that we are on Daniel Island will the call be routed properly to quickly dispense the EMS team located here on DI?  Monty Jenkins who is the Deputy Chief of EMS for Berkely County will provide us with some answers to these questions and, perhaps, outline a need that they have that our club might be able to help provide, much like the high-tech mannequin provided by Firehouse Subs described in the article below.
