September 13 (Zoom) – Nick Osborne, President and CEO of Lowcountry Food Bank. Our Club visited the Lowcountry Food Bank nearly a decade ago. When we visited the Shifta Clinic earlier this year Dr. Kahn noted that much of the food in its food pantry came from the LFB. That served as a reminder that it is perhaps time to, once again, hear from the Lowcountry Food Bank. Food insecurity remains a serious problem in coastal South Caroline, affecting nearly 10% of our neighbors. The LFB works via partnerships with dozens of nonprofit organizations to feed children, prepare nutritious meals for seniors and veterans, empower parents to make healthy food choices and provide fresh fruit and vegetables to many families in neighboring communities. Nick has been in his current position with the Lowcountry Food Bank for nearly three years. But prior to his arrival in Charleston, he was in charge of International Programs and Operations for CARE, USA fighting world hunger in 90 countries.
