June 23 – Nicole Thompson, Middleton Plantation, Beyond the Fields, A discussion of slavery at Middleton. When Jason Bearden from Kings Tide Restaurant hosted a private tour for us at Middleton Plantation, he had us attend a presentation about slavery in the South, at Middleton Plantation in particular. It was one of the most informative, balanced discussions about slavery any of us had ever attended. We all learned something. We invited Nicole to do a similar presentation to the Club.
