December 9 – Ron Daise, V.P. of Creative Education at Brookgreen Gardens -- the Gullah Geechee language. Ron did a Gullah Geechee TED talk in Charleston in 2014. We have wanted to have him speak to us for the past 6 years and now, through our virtual Zoom meetings, we can make that happen. In addition to his TED talk, Ron also does an entertaining program about the culture, food, language, and history of the Gullah Geechee people at Brookgreen Gardens. If that is not enough Ron is a singer with a CD called “A Hushed Thrill”, a story teller, and a children’s book author. You will recall that Page Kiniry the Executive Director of Brookgreen Gardens, was one of our first virtual speakers back in April.
