October 1 -- Patrick Woods, Board Member, Society of St. Vincent de Paul. SVdP is a Catholic lay organization which offers person-to-person service to those who are needy and suffering. It provides emergency financial assistance for rent, utilities, food, and medical needs. It provides essentials like clothing, bedding, and hygiene supplies. And it visits those in need at home or in hospitals. Our connection with the group comes from Ben Laaper who works with SVdP to select the homes that Bill Greene and his Nail Bangers group then repair.
