The meeting address will be 1360 Truxtun Ave. (Storehouse 7) North Charleston, SC 29405.  McMillan Avenue is closed for construction so you should use this alternative map.

We will meet on the lawn at Storehouse 7, Jay will greet the group and talk about the project, then tour through Storehouse 8 & 9, walk past Storehouse 10 (currently Urban Electric Co.) & 11 to The Powerhouse then back up to the 3 Sisters Warehouses and return to the lawn for food & drinks.

Wear sturdy walking shoes.

The Navy Yard requires a signed release.  Please complete the below DocuSign form with your e-signature as it will go directly to them so that they can keep count.  Paper copies will also be available the day of the tour. Every individual should sign a release even if visiting as a couple/family.

The link below provides a pictorial history of the Navy Yard from its beginnings in the 1900’s, through the Depression, its designation as the Charleston Naval Shipyard,  World War II shipbuilding, and the base closing in 1996.  But now it is being re-developed.  On the website below it says, “In 2022 local developers of the Cigar Factory and GARco Mill in Park Circle, Jay Weaver and William Cogswell, joined forced with Jamestown to create a partnership at Navy Yard Charleston.  They share a vision and common goal to repurpose historical structures and preserve the area’s rich history and unique character.  Navy Yard Charleston will celebrate, amplify and create new opportunities for the people, business, makers, purveyors, and innovators of the region.”  This development will transform the entire North Charleston community.
