March 29 – Tour of Wabi Sabi Farm. You will recall that the owners of Wabi Sabi Farm, Jimmy and Johnna Livingston spoke to us back in August. They invited us to visit their farm and now we are going to take them up on their kind offer. While perhaps best known for their crop of strawberries in the spring where you can pick your own if you choose to do so. You will also find a variety of other fresh fruits and vegetables at the farm including daikon radishes, green peppers, watermelons, sweet onions, green onions, lettuce, kale, and collard greens. Wabi Sabi is a Japanese term that is hard to translate but it encourages simplicity and authenticity in everything and often represents an appreciation of a serene life far from the urban hustle and bustle.
We will receive an informative 30 minute tour, then have been welcomed to enjoy the serenity of their farm with strawberry picking if you're interested, as well as some fresh in season vegetables for purchase. If you are interested please RSVP by March 22nd.
