March 9, (Zoom) Ron Scherba, Site Operations Manager, Google. Ever wonder where “the cloud” is? Google is the cloud. Whenever you access Gmail, edit a document, or search for information, your request may only go a few short miles to the Google facility in Berkeley County. Ron is the operations manager for the site and will talk about the enormous power of Google, the number of employees employed at the facility, its importance to the S.C. economy, what Google does with the data they collect, and acknowledge the vast quantity of water required to keep their computers cooled. He will also give us with a glimpse inside the facility just up the road near Cypress Gardens.
